حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَدَّث
َنَا أَبِي عَنْ صَالِحٍ قَالَ قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَدِيِّ بْنِ الْحَمْرَاءِ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ وَاقِفٌ بِالْحَزْوَرَةِ مِنْ مَكَّةَ يَقُولُ لِمَكَّةَ وَاللَّهِ إِنَّكِ لَأَخْيَرُ أَرْضِ اللَّهِ وَأَحَبُّ أَرْضِ اللَّهِ إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَلَوْلَا أَنِّي أُخْرِجْتُ مِنْكِ مَا خَرَجْتُ

English Translation
Yaʿqūb ibn Ibrāhīm narrated from his father, from Ṣāliḥ, who said: Ibn Shihāb said: Abū Salamah ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān informed me that ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAdī ibn al-Ḥamrāʾ informed him that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while standing at al-Ḥazwarah in Makkah, saying to Makkah: 'By Allah, you are the best of Allah's land and the most beloved of Allah's land to Allah عز وجل. Were it not that I was expelled from you, I would never have left.'
