حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَدِيِّ بْنِ الْحَمْرَاءِ الزُّهْرِيَّ أخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ وَاقِفٌ بِالْحَزْوَرَةِ فِي سُوقِ مَكَّةَ وَاللَّهِ إِنَّكِ لَخَيْرُ أَرْضِ اللَّهِ وَأَحَبُّ أَرْضِ اللَّهِ إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَلَوْلَا أَنِّي أُخْرِجْتُ مِنْكِ مَا خَرَجْتُ
English Translation
Abū al-Yamān narrated from Shuʿayb, from al-Zuhrī — Abū Salamah ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān informed us — that ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAdī ibn al-Ḥamrāʾ al-Zuhrī informed him that he heard the Prophet ﷺ while he was standing at al-Ḥazwarah in the market of Makkah: 'By Allah, you are the best of Allah's land and the most beloved of Allah's land to Allah عز وجل. Were it not that I was expelled from you, I would never have left.'
