Muḥammad ibn Jaʿfar and ʿAffān narrated from Shuʿbah, from al-Aswad ibn Qays, from Jundub, who said: 'Something struck the finger of the Prophet ﷺ' — Ibn Jaʿfar said: 'a stone' — 'and it bled. He said: "Are you anything but a finger that has bled, and in the cause of Allah is what you have met?"'
