حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ وَعَفَّانُ قَالَا ثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنْ جُنْدُبٍ قَالَ أَصَابَ إِصْبَع

َ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَيْءٌ وَقَالَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَجَرٌ فَدَمِيَتْ فَقَالَ هَلْ أَنْتِ إِلَّا إِصْبَعٌ دَمِيتِ وَفِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ مَا لَقِيتِ

English Translation
Muḥammad ibn Jaʿfar and ʿAffān narrated from Shuʿbah, from al-Aswad ibn Qays, from Jundub, who said: 'Something struck the finger of the Prophet ﷺ' — Ibn Jaʿfar said: 'a stone' — 'and it bled. He said: "Are you anything but a finger that has bled, and in the cause of Allah is what you have met?"'
