English Translation
Wakīʿ narrated from Sufyān, from al-Aswad ibn Qays, who said: I heard Jundub al-ʿAlaqī narrating that Jibrīl was slow in coming to the Prophet ﷺ, and he was distressed. So it was said to him — and the verse was revealed: "By the morning brightness, and by the night when it covers with darkness. Your Lord has not forsaken you, nor has He become displeased" [93:1-3].
