English Translation
Wakīʿ and Muḥammad ibn Jaʿfar narrated to us, both saying: Shuʿbah narrated to us, from al-Ḥakam, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Abī Laylā — Ibn Jaʿfar said: I heard Ibn Abī Laylā — from a man among the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Do not go out to meet the riders' — Ibn Jaʿfar said: 'Do not go out to meet incoming goods, and a town-dweller should not sell on behalf of a desert-dweller. Whoever purchases an animal whose milk has been allowed to accumulate [muṣarrāh], he has the option of the later of two considerations' — Ibn Jaʿfar said: 'one of two considerations' — 'if he returns it, he returns with it a ṣāʿ of food or a ṣāʿ of dates.'
