Hadith #432
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ قَالَ ثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَ
اشٍ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ أَصْبَحَ النَّاسُ لِتَمَامِ ثَلَاثِينَ يَوْمًا فَجَاءَ أَعْرَابِيَّانِ فَشَهِدَا أَنَّهُمَا أَهَلَّاهُ بِالْأَمْسِ عَشِيَّةً فَأَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يُفْطِرُوا

English Translation
ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Mahdī narrated to us, Sufyān narrated to us, from Manṣūr, from Ribʿī ibn Ḥirāsh, from some of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who said: The people woke on the morning completing thirty days [of Shaʿbān], and then two Bedouins came and testified that they had sighted the crescent the previous evening. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered them to break their fast.
