English Translation

Yūnus ibn Muḥammad narrated to us, ʿAbd al-Wāḥid narrated to us, ʿĀṣim ibn Kulayb narrated to us, from his father, from Wāʾil ibn Ḥujr al-Ḥaḍramī who said: I came to the Prophet ﷺ and said to myself: 'I shall observe how he prays.' He faced the qiblah, pronounced the takbīr, and raised his hands until they were level with his shoulders. Then he grasped his left hand with his right. When he intended to bow, he raised his hands until they were level with his shoulders. When he bowed, he placed his hands on his knees. When he raised his head from bowing, he raised his hands until they were level with his shoulders. When he prostrated, he placed his hands from his face in that same position. When he sat, he spread out his left foot, placed his left hand on his left knee, placed the tip of his right elbow on his right thigh, formed a ring of thirty [with three fingers] and made a circle with one [thumb and middle finger], and pointed with his index finger.
