English Translation

Wakīʿ narrated to us, Shuʿbah narrated to us, from ʿAmr ibn Murrah who said: I heard Abū al-Bakhtarī al-Ṭāʾī narrating from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn al-Yaḥṣubī, from Wāʾil ibn Ḥujr al-Ḥaḍramī, that he prayed with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He would pronounce the takbīr whenever he lowered and whenever he raised, and he would raise his hands with the takbīr, and he would give salām to his right and to his left. Shuʿbah said: Abān — meaning Ibn Taghlib — said to me regarding the hadith: 'Until the whiteness of his face became visible.' I asked ʿAmr: 'Is that in the hadith — until the whiteness of his face became visible?' ʿAmr said: 'Or something like that.'
