English Translation
ʿAbd al-Raḥmān narrated to us, from Sufyān, from ʿAṭāʾ — meaning Ibn al-Sāʾib — from a man of Bakr ibn Wāʾil, from his maternal uncle who said: I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, shall I levy a tithe on my people?' He said: 'Tithes are only upon Jews and Christians. There is no tithe upon the people of Islam.'
