English Translation
Abū Muʿāwiyah narrated to us, Hishām ibn ʿUrwah narrated to us, from his father, from Nājiyah al-Khuzāʿī — and he was the keeper of the sacrificial camels of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ — who said: I said: "O Messenger of Allah, how should I deal with those of the camels — or the sacrificial animals — that become injured?" He said: "Slaughter it, then cast its sandal-marker in its blood, then leave it and let the people eat it."
