حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ وَحَدَّثَنِي أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ حَارِثَةَ بْنِ مُضَرِّبٍ عَنْ فُرَاتِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى الل
َّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَ بِقَتْلِهِ وَكَانَ عَيْنًا لِأَبِي سُفْيَانَ وَحَلِيفًا فَمَرَّ بِحَلْقَةٍ مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ فَقَالَ إِنِّي مُسْلِمٌ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّهُ يَزْعُمُ أَنَّهُ مُسْلِمٌ فَقَالَ إِنَّ مِنْكُمْ رِجَالًا نَكِلُهُمْ إِلَى إِيمَانِهِمْ مِنْهُمْ فُرَاتُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ

English Translation
ʿAlī ibn ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us, Bishr ibn al-Sarrī narrated to us — Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān said: and Abū Khaythamah narrated to me, Bishr ibn al-Sarrī narrated to us — Sufyān narrated to us, from Abū Isḥāq, from Ḥārithah ibn Muḍarrib, from Furāt ibn Ḥayyān, that the Prophet ﷺ ordered his execution. He was a spy for Abū Sufyān and an ally. He passed by a circle of the Anṣār and said: "I am a Muslim." They said: "O Messenger of Allah, he claims he is a Muslim." He said: "Among you are men whom we entrust to their faith; among them is Furāt ibn Ḥayyān."
