English Translation

Hushaym narrated to us, Manṣūr narrated to us, from Ibn Sīrīn, from the son of al-ʿAlāʾ ibn al-Ḥaḍramī — his father said: Hushaym narrated it to us twice: once from Ibn al-ʿAlāʾ, and once without connecting the chain — that his father wrote to the Prophet ﷺ and began with himself (putting his own name before the Prophet ﷺ's name).
