حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ حَدَّثَنَا عِكْرِمَةُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَمَّارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي طَارِقُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْقُرَشِيُّ قَالَ جَاءَ رَافِعُ بْنُ رِفَاعَةَ إِلَى مَجْلِسِ الْأَنْصَارِ فَقَالَ لَقَدْ نَهَانَا نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْيَوْمَ عَنْ شَيْءٍ كَانَ يَرْفُقُ بِنَا فِي مَعَايِشِنَا فَقَالَ نَهَانَا عَنْ كِرَ
اءِ الْأَرْضِ قَالَ مَنْ كَانَتْ لَهُ أَرْضٌ فَلْيَزْرَعْهَا أَوْ لِيُزْرِعْهَا أَخَاهُ أَوْ لِيَدَعْهَا وَنَهَانَا عَنْ كَسْبِ الْحَجَّامِ وَأَمَرَنَا أَنْ نُطْعِمَهُ نَوَاضِحَنَا وَنَهَانَا عَنْ كَسْبِ الْأَمَةِ إِلَّا مَا عَمِلَتْ بِيَدِهَا وَقَالَ هَكَذَا بِأَصَابِعِهِ نَحْوَ الْخَبْزِ وَالْغَزْلِ وَالنَّفْشِ

English Translation
Hāshim ibn al-Qāsim narrated to us, ʿIkrimah — meaning Ibn ʿAmmār — narrated to us, he said: Ṭāriq ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Qurashī narrated to me, he said: Rāfiʿ ibn Rifāʿah came to a gathering of the Anṣār and said, 'the Prophet ﷺ of Allah ﷺ has forbidden us today from things that were beneficial to us in our livelihoods.' He said, 'He forbade us from renting out land. He said: Whoever has land should cultivate it himself, or let his brother cultivate it, or leave it fallow. And he forbade us from the earnings of a cupper, and he commanded us to feed it to our water-carrying camels. And he forbade us from the earnings of a slave-woman except what she earns with her own hands,' and he gestured like this with his fingers, indicating baking, spinning, and carding.
