حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ زَائِدَةَ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ عَنْ خ
َيْثَمَةَ عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَيْرُ النَّاسِ قَرْنِي الَّذِي أَنَا فِيهِ ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ثُمَّ يَأْتِي قَوْمٌ تَسْبِقُ شَهَادَتُهُمْ أَيْمَانَهُمْ وَأَيْمَانُهُمْ شَهَادَتَهُمْ

English Translation
Ḥusayn ibn ʿAlī narrated to us, from Zāʾidah, from ʿĀṣim, from Khaythamah, from al-Nuʿmān ibn Bashīr رضي الله عنه who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The best of people is my generation — the one I am in — then those who follow them, then those who follow them. Then there will come people whose testimony precedes their oaths and whose oaths precede their testimony.'
