حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ عَنِ الْمُنْذِرِ بْنِ جَرِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ سَنَّ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ سُنَّةً حَسَنَةً كَانَ لَهُ أَجْرُهَا وَأَجْرُ مَنْ عَمِلَ بِهَا مِنْ بَعْدِهِ مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ يُنْتَقَصَ مِنْ أُجُورِهِمْ شَيْءٌ وَمَنْ سَنَّ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ سُنَّةً سَيِّئَةً كَانَ عَلَيْهِ وِزْرُهَا وَوِزْرُ مَنْ عَمِلَ بِهَا مِنْ بَعْدِهِ مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ يُنْتَقَصَ مِنْ
أَوْزَارِهِمْ شَيْءٌ حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَوْنَ بْنَ أَبِي جَحْفَةَ عَنِ الْمُنْذِرِ بْنِ جَرِيرٍ الْبَجَلِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ كُنَّا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي صَدْرِ النَّهَارِ فَذَكَرَهُ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ فَأَمَرَ بِلَالًا فَأَذَّنَ ثُمَّ دَخَلَ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ يُصَلِّي وَقَالَ كَأَنَّهُ مُذْهَبَةٌ

English Translation
Jarīr narrated from the Prophet ﷺ who said: 'Whoever introduces a good practice (sunnah) in Islam shall have its reward and the reward of all who act upon it after him, without any of their rewards being diminished. And whoever introduces an evil practice in Islam shall bear its burden and the burden of all who act upon it after him, without any of their burdens being diminished.' Hāshim ibn al-Qāsim narrated to us from Shuʿbah, from ʿAwn ibn Abī Juḥayfah, from al-Mundhir ibn Jarīr al-Bajalī, from his father, who said: We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the early part of the day — and he mentioned the same, except that he said: He commanded Bilāl, who gave the adhān, then he entered, then came out to pray. And he said: as though it were gilded.
