English Translation
Jarīr ibn ʿAbd Allāh urinated, then performed wuḍūʾ and wiped over his leather socks (khuffayn). It was said to him, 'You do this even after urinating?' He said, 'Yes, I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ urinate, then perform wuḍūʾ and wipe over his leather socks.' Ibrāhīm said: This ḥadīth used to impress them because Jarīr's acceptance of Islam was after the revelation of Sūrat al-Māʾidah.
