English Translation

Jarīr narrated: A group of Bedouins wearing striped woolen cloaks (nimār) came to the Prophet ﷺ. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ urged the people to give charity, but they were slow to respond until it showed on his face. Then a man from the Anṣār brought a piece of gold ore (tibr) and placed it (before the Prophet ﷺ). People followed in succession until the joy showed on his face. He said: 'Whoever introduces a good practice and it is acted upon after him shall have its reward and the equivalent of the reward of those who act upon it, without any of their rewards being diminished. And whoever introduces an evil practice and it is acted upon after him shall bear its burden and the burden of those who act upon it, without any of their burdens being diminished.'
