Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ جَرِيرٍ قَالَ قَالَ جَرِيرٌ بَايَعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى السَّمْعِ
وَالطَّاعَةِ وَعَلَى أَنْ أَنْصَحَ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ وَكَانَ جَرِيرٌ إِذَا اشْتَرَى الشَّيْءَ وَكَانَ أَعْجَبَ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ ثَمَنِهِ قَالَ لِصَاحِبِهِ تَعْلَمَنَّ وَاللَّهِ لَمَا أَخَذْنَا أَحَبُّ إِلَيْنَا مِمَّا أَعْطَيْنَاكَ كَأَنَّهُ يُرِيدُ بِذَلِكَ الْوَفَاءَ

English Translation
Jarīr narrated: I pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ upon hearing and obeying and upon being sincere to every Muslim. Whenever Jarīr bought something and the item was more appealing to him than its price, he would tell its seller: 'Know, by Allah, that what we took is dearer to us than what we gave you' — as if he intended sincerity (in trade) by that.
