حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ جَرِيرٍ أَنَّهُ بَالَ قَالَ ثُمَّ تَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ ع
َلَى خُفَّيْهِ فَصَلَّى وَسُئِلَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَنَعَ مِثْلَ هَذَا قَالَ وَكَانَ يُعْجِبُهُمْ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ مِنْ أَجْلِ أَنَّ جَرِيرًا كَانَ مِنْ آخِرِ مَنْ أَسْلَمَ

English Translation
Jarīr urinated, then performed wuḍūʾ and wiped over his leather socks, then prayed. He was asked about this and said: 'I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do the same.' This ḥadīth used to impress them because Jarīr was among the last to accept Islam.
