حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ حَدَّث

َنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَمْرَو بْنَ دِينَارٍ يَذْكُرُ عَنْ أَبِي الْمِنْهَالِ أَنَّ زَيْدَ بْنَ أَرْقَمَ وَالْبَرَاءَ بْنَ عَازِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ كَانَا شَرِيكَيْنِ فَاشْتَرَيَا فِضَّةً بِنَقْدٍ وَنَسِيئَةً فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَمَرَهُمَا أَنَّ مَا كَانَ بِنَقْدٍ فَأَجِيزُوهُ وَمَا كَانَ بِنَسِيئَةٍ فَرُدُّوهُ

English Translation

Zayd ibn Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that zayd and al-Barāʾ were trading partners. They bought silver — some for ready cash and some on credit. the Prophet ﷺ was asked about that and said: 'Whatever is hand-to-hand is permissible, and whatever is on credit is not permissible.'
