Hadith #266
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ عَمْرُو بْنُ مُرَّةَ أَخْبَرَنِي قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا حَمْزَةَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ زَيْدَ بْنَ أَرْقَمَ قَالَ كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ فَنَ
زَلْنَا مَنْزِلًا فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ مَا أَنْتُمْ بِجُزْءٍ مِنْ مِائَةِ أَلْفِ جُزْءٍ مِمَّنْ يَرِدُ عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ مِنْ أُمَّتِي قَالَ كَمْ كُنْتُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ قَالَ سَبْعَ مِائَةٍ أَوْ ثَمَانِ مِائَةٍ
Isnad Chain
English Translation
Zayd ibn Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The Pool is what my ummah will come to, and indeed you are not one in a hundred thousand of those who will come to it.' He was asked: 'How many were you at that time?' He said: 'Between seven hundred and eight hundred.'
