حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ عَمْرُو بْنُ مُرَّةَ أَنْبَأَنِي قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ أَبِي أَوْفَى قَالَ وَكَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الشَّجَرَةِ قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى ا

للَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَتَاهُ رَجُلٌ بِصَدَقَتِهِ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى آلِ فُلَانٍ قَالَ فَأَتَاهُ أَبِي بِصَدَقَتِهِ فَقَالَ اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى آلِ أَبِي أَوْفَى

English Translation

ʿAbd Allāh ibn Abī Awfā narrated — and he was one of the Companions of the Tree (Bayʿat al-Riḍwān): Whenever the Prophet ﷺ was brought charity by someone, he would say: 'O Allah, send blessings upon the family of so-and-so.' My father came with his charity, and the Prophet ﷺ said: 'O Allah, send blessings upon the family of Abū Awfā.'
