Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ حَكِيمٍ عَنْ خَارِجَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنْ عَمِّهِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ أَنَّهُ كَانَ جَالِسًا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي أَصْحَابِهِ فَطَلَعَتْ
جِنَازَةٌ فَلَمَّا رَآهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثَارَ وَثَارَ أَصْحَابُهُ مَعَهُ فَلَمْ يَزَالُوا قِيَامًا حَتَّى نَفَذَتْ قَالَ وَاللَّهِ مَا أَدْرِي مِنْ تَأَذٍّ بِهَا أَوْ مِنْ تَضَايُقِ الْمَكَانِ وَلَا أَحْسِبُهَا إِلَّا يَهُودِيًّا أَوْ يَهُودِيَّةً وَمَا سَأَلْنَا عَنْ قِيَامِهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

English Translation
Yazīd ibn Thābit narrated: He was sitting with the Prophet ﷺ among his Companions when a funeral procession passed. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw it, he stood up, and his Companions stood with him. They remained standing until the funeral had passed. He said: 'By Allah, I do not know whether it was out of discomfort from it or from the tightness of the place. I do not think it was anything but a Jew — male or female.' And we did not ask about his standing ﷺ.
