حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَ
اقَ عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيُّ لَقَدْ ذَكَّرَنَا عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ صَلَاةً صَلَّيْنَاهَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَإِمَّا أَنْ نَكُونَ نَسِينَاهَا وَإِمَّا أَنْ نَكُونَ تَرَكْنَاهَا عَمْدًا يُكَبِّرُ كُلَّمَا رَكَعَ وَإِذَا سَجَدَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ

English Translation
Wakīʿ narrated to us, Isrāʾīl narrated to us, from Abū Isḥāq, from al-Aswad ibn Yazīd, who said: Abū Mūsā al-Ashʿarī said: 'ʿAlī رضي الله تعالى عنه reminded us of a prayer that we used to perform with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ — either we had forgotten it or we had deliberately abandoned it — in which he would say the takbīr every time he bowed, when he prostrated, and when he raised [his head].'
