حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ الْهَيْثَمِ حَدَّثَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ و حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونٍَ أَنْبَأَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ عَن عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَن أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ عَن أَبِي مُوسَى ق
َالَ سَمَّى لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَفْسَهُ أَسْمَاءً مِنْهَا مَا حَفِظْنَا وَمِنْهَا مَا لَمْ نَحْفَظْ فَقَالَ أَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ وَأَنَا أَحْمَدُ والْمُقَفِّي وَالْحَاشِرُ وَنَبِيُّ التَّوْبَةِ وَنَبِيُّ الْمَلْحَمَةِ

English Translation
ʿAmr ibn al-Haytham narrated to us, al-Masʿūdī narrated to us; and my father narrated to me, Yazīd ibn Hārūn narrated to us, al-Masʿūdī informed us, from ʿAmr ibn Murrah, from Abū ʿUbaydah, from Abū Mūsā, who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ named himself for us with names, some of which we memorized and some we did not. He said: 'I am Muḥammad, and I am Aḥmad, and al-Muqaffī (the Last), and al-Ḥāshir (the Gatherer), and the Prophet ﷺ of Repentance, and the Prophet ﷺ of Battle.'
