English Translation

Yaḥyā ibn Saʿīd narrated to us, ʿAwf narrated to us, Qasāmah ibn Zuhayr narrated to us, from Abū Mūsā, from the Prophet ﷺ. My father said: And Hawdhah also narrated it to us, ʿAwf narrated to us, from Qasāmah, who said: I heard al-Ashʿarī say: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Indeed, Allah عز وجل created Adam from a handful that He took from all of the earth. So the children of Adam came according to the nature of the earth. Among them are the red, the white, the black, and those in between; the easy-going and the difficult, and those in between; and the wicked and the good, and those in between.'
