English Translation

Yaḥyā ibn Saʿīd narrated to us, Qurrah narrated to us, Sayyār Abū al-Ḥakam narrated to us, from Abū Burdah, from his father, who said: I said to the Prophet ﷺ: 'The people of Yemen have two drinks — or beverages — this al-bitʿ which is from honey, and al-mizr which is from corn and barley. What do you command me regarding them?' He said: 'I forbid you from every intoxicant.'
