English Translation

He (the Messenger of Allah ﷺ) said: 'Indeed, there are tribulations ahead of you like pieces of the dark night. A man wakes up as a believer and by evening he is a disbeliever, and he goes to sleep as a believer and wakes up as a disbeliever. The one sitting during them is better than the one standing, the one standing is better than the one walking, and the one walking is better than the one running.' They said: 'What do you command us?' He said: 'Be like the fixtures of your homes (i.e., stay home and avoid fitnah).'
