حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَا ثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ يَحْيَى فِي حَدِيثِهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ مُرَّةَ قَالَ ابْنُ جَعْفَ
رٍ عَن مُرَّةَ الْهَمْدَانِيِّ عَن أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ كَمُلَ مِنْ الرِّجَالِ كَثِيرٌ وَلَمْ يَكْمُلْ مِنْ النِّسَاءِ غَيْرُ مَرْيَمَ بِنْتِ عِمْرَانَ وَآسِيَةَ امْرَأَةِ فِرْعَوْنَ وَإِنَّ فَضْلَ عَائِشَةَ عَلَى النِّسَاءِ كَفَضْلِ الثَّرِيدِ عَلَى سَائِرِ الطَّعَامِ

English Translation
Yaḥyā ibn Saʿīd and Muḥammad ibn Jaʿfar narrated to us, both saying: Shuʿbah narrated to us — Yaḥyā said in his version: ʿAmr ibn Murrah narrated to me; Ibn Jaʿfar said: from Murrah al-Hamdānī — from Abū Mūsā al-Ashʿarī, from the Prophet ﷺ who said: 'Many among men have attained perfection, but none among women have attained perfection except Maryam bint ʿImrān and Āsiyah the wife of Pharaoh. And the superiority of ʿĀʾishah over other women is like the superiority of tharīd (a bread and meat dish) over all other food.'
