English Translation
Sufyān ibn ʿUyaynah narrated to us, from Ismāʿīl — meaning Ibn Abī Khālid — from Ḥakīm ibn Jābir, from his father رضي الله عنه who said: I entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he had gourd (dubbāʾ). I said, 'What is this?' He said, 'We use it to make our food more plentiful.'
