حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ سَيَّارِ بْنِ سَلَامَةَ عَنْ أَبِي بَرْزَةَ الْأَسْلَمِيِّ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يُؤَخِّرُ الْعِشَاءَ الْآخِرَةَ إِلَى ثُلُثِ اللَّيْلِ وَكَانَ يَكْرَهُ النَّوْمَ قَبْلَهَا وَالْحَدِيثَ بَعْدَهَا وَكَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْفَجْرِ مَا بَيْنَ الْمِائَةِ إِلَى السِّتِّينَ وَكَانَ يَنْصَرِفُ حِينَ يَنْصَرِفُ وَبَعْضُنَا يَعْرِفُ وَجْهَ بَعْضٍ
English Translation
Yūnus narrated to us, Ḥammād ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Sayyār ibn Salāmah, from Abū Barzah al-Aslamī, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to delay the last ʿIshāʾ prayer until a third of the night. He disliked sleeping before it and talking after it. He used to recite in the Fajr prayer between one hundred and sixty verses. He would finish it when one of us could recognize the face of another.
