English Translation

Ismā‘īl narrated to us: Khālid al-Hadhdhā’ narrated to us, from Abū Qilābah, from Abū al-Muhallab, from ‘Imrān ibn Husayn, that the Prophet ﷺ gave the salām after three rak‘ahs of ‘Asr, then stood up and went inside. A man called al-Khirbāq, who had long hands, stood up and said: O Messenger of Allāh! the Prophet ﷺ came out to him, and the man told him what he had done. So the Prophet ﷺ came back and asked: Is what this man says true? They said: Yes. So he prayed the rak‘ah he had missed, then gave the salām, then prostrated two prostrations of forgetfulness, then gave the salām.
