حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا السَّوَّارِ الْعَدَوِىَّ يُحَدِّثُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عِمْرَانَ بْنَ حُصَيْنٍ الْخُزَاعِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ
عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ الْحَيَاءُ لَا يَأْتِي إِلَّا بِخَيْرٍ فَقَالَ بُشَيْرُ بْنُ كَعْبٍ مَكْتُوبٌ فِي الْحِكْمَةِ أَنَّ مِنْهُ وَقَارًا وَمِنْهُ سَكِينَةً فَقَالَ عِمْرَانُ أُحَدِّثُكَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَتُحَدِّثُنِي عَنْ صُحُفِكَ

English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us: Shu‘bah narrated to us, from Qatādah, who said: I heard Abū al-Sawwār al-‘Adawī narrating that he heard ‘Imrān ibn Husayn al-Khuzā‘ī narrating from the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ. He said: Modesty brings nothing but good. Bushīr ibn Ka‘b said: It is written in the books of wisdom that some of it is dignity and some of it is tranquility. ‘Imrān said: I am narrating to you from the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ and you are narrating to me from your scrolls!
