حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ وَغَيْرِ وَاحِدٍ عَنْ مُطَرِّفِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ قَالَ صَلَّيْتُ أَنَا وَعِمْرَانُ بْنُ حُصَيْنٍ بِالْكُوفَةِ خَلْفَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ
فَكَبَّرَ بِنَا هَذَا التَّكْبِيرَ حِينَ يَرْكَعُ وَحِينَ يَسْجُدُ فَكَبَّرَهُ كُلَّهُ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفْنَا قَالَ لِي عِمْرَانُ مَا صَلَّيْتُ مُنْذُ حِينٍ أَوْ قَالَ مُنْذُ كَذَا وَكَذَا أَشْبَهَ بِصَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةِ يَعْنِي صَلَاةَ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ

English Translation
Abd al-Razzāq narrated to us: Ma‘mar narrated to us, from Qatādah and others, from Mutarrif ibn Abdillāh ibn al-Shikhkhīr, who said: I and ‘Imrān ibn Husayn prayed in Kūfah behind ‘Alī ibn Abī Tālib, and he said the takbīr at every bowing and prostration and throughout the entire prayer. When we finished, ‘Imrān said to me: I have not prayed in a long time — or he said: in such-and-such a time — a prayer more resembling the prayer of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ than this prayer — meaning the prayer of ‘Alī, may Allāh be pleased with him.
