English Translation

Yazīd narrated to us, Hammām — meaning Ibn Yaḥyā — informed us, from Qatādah, from al-Ḥasan, from ʿImrān ibn Ḥuṣayn, that a man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: ‘My son has died, so what is my share of his inheritance?’ He said: ‘For you is one-sixth.’ When he turned to leave, he called him back and said: ‘For you is another sixth.’ When he turned away again, he called him back and said: ‘The other sixth is an additional provision for you.’
