English Translation

Muḥammad ibn Jaʿfar narrated to us, Shuʿbah narrated to us, from ʿAlī ibn Zayd, who said: I heard Abū Naḍrah say: ʿImrān ibn Ḥuṣayn passed by our mosque. I stood up, took hold of his bridle, and asked him about prayer during travel. He said: ‘We went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the Hajj, and he prayed two rakʿahs until he passed away. Abū Bakr prayed two rakʿahs until he passed away. ʿUmar prayed two rakʿahs until he passed away. ʿUthmān prayed two rakʿahs for six — or eight — years, then he completed the prayer to four at Minā.’
