حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي الْمَلِيحِ الْهُذَلِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي رَجُلٌ مِنْ الْحَيِّ أَنَّ يَعْلَي بْنَ سُهَيْلٍ مَرَّ بِعِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ
فَقَالَ لَهُ يَا يَعْلَي أَلَمْ أُنَبَّأْ أَنَّكَ بِعْتَ دَارَكَ بِمِائَةِ أَلْفٍ قَالَ بَلَى قَدْ بِعْتُهَا بِمِائَةِ أَلْفٍ قَالَ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَنْ بَاعَ عُقْدَةَ مَالٍ سَلَّطَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عَلَيْهَا تَالِفًا يُتْلِفُهَا

English Translation
ʿAbd al-Ṣamad narrated to us, Muḥammad ibn Abī al-Malīḥ al-Hudhalī narrated to us, a man from the tribe narrated to me, that Yaʿlā ibn Suhayl passed by ʿImrān ibn Ḥuṣayn. He said to him: ‘O Yaʿlā, have I not been told that you sold your house for one hundred thousand?’ He said: ‘Yes, I sold it for one hundred thousand.’ He said: ‘Indeed, I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Whoever sells a property, Allah عز وجل will send upon its proceeds a destroyer that will consume it."’
