ʿAbd al-Ṣamad and ʿAffān said: Ḥammād narrated to us, Abū al-Tayyāḥ narrated to us. ʿAffān said: Abū al-Tayyāḥ informed us, from Muṭarrif, from ʿImrān ibn Ḥuṣayn, that the Prophet ﷺ forbade cauterization. He said: ‘We cauterized ourselves, but they did not succeed and did not benefit.’ ʿAffān said: ‘They did not succeed and they did not benefit.’
