English Translation

Bahz narrated to us, Hammām narrated to us, Qatādah narrated to us, from al-Ḥasan, from Jawn ibn Qatādah, from Salamah ibn al-Muḥabbiq, that he was with the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ during the expedition of Tabūk. He came upon a house in front of which was a waterskin hanging. He asked for a drink, and it was said: ‘It is from a dead animal.’ He said: ‘Its purification is its tanning.’”
