حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ الْكَرِيمِ بْنُ أَبِي الْمُخَارِقِ عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ سَعْوَةَ الرَّاسِبِيِّ عَنْ سِنَانِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ الْهُذَلِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ سَلَمَةَ وَكَانَ قَدْ صَحِبَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ
سَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ بَعَثَ بَدَنَتَيْنِ مَعَ رَجُلٍ وَقَالَ إِنْ عَرَضَ لَهُمَا فَانْحَرْهُمَا وَاغْمِسْ النَّعْلَ فِي دِمَائِهِمَا ثُمَّ اضْرِبْ بِهِ صَفْحَتَيْهِمَا حَتَّى يُعْلَمَ أَنَّهُمَا بَدَنَتَانِ قَالَ صَفْحَتَيْ كُلِّ وَاحِدَةٍ قَالَ وَلَا تَأْكُلْ مِنْهَا أَنْتَ وَلَا أَحَدٌ مِنْ رُفْقَتِكَ وَدَعْهَا لِمَنْ بَعْدَكُمْ

English Translation
Muḥammad ibn Bakr narrated to us, Ibn Jurayj informed us, ‘Abd al-Karīm ibn Abī al-Mukhāriq informed me, from Mu‘ādh ibn Sa‘wah al-Rāsibī, from Sinān ibn Salamah al-Hudhalī, from his father Salamah — who had been a Companion of the Prophet ﷺ — from the Prophet ﷺ, that he sent two sacrificial camels with a man and said: “If anything befalls them, slaughter them, dip the sandal in their blood, then strike it on the sides of each one so that it is known they are sacrificial camels. And do not eat from them — neither you nor anyone from your traveling party. Leave them for those who come after you.”
