حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْب
َةُ وَحَجَّاجٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي شُعْبَةُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مَعْبَدَ بْنَ خَالِدٍ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْعِيدَيْنِ بِسَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَهَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْغَاشِيَةِ

English Translation
Muḥammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, Shu‘bah informed us — and Ḥajjāj said: Shu‘bah narrated to me — who said: I heard Ma‘bad ibn Khālid narrating from Zayd ibn ‘Uqbah, from Samurah ibn Jundub, that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ used to recite in the two ‘Īd prayers: ‘Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High’ (Sūrah al-A‘lā) and ‘Has there come to you the report of the Overwhelming?’ (Sūrah al-Ghāshiyah).
