English Translation

Muḥammad ibn Ja‘far and Rawḥ narrated to us, both saying: Shu‘bah narrated to us, from a shaykh of Banū Qushayr. Rawḥ said: I heard Sawādah al-Qushayrī — who was their imām — who said: I heard Samurah ibn Jundub delivering a sermon, saying: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: “Do not be deceived by the call of Bilāl, nor by this whiteness [on the horizon], until the dawn breaks” — or: “until the dawn rises.”
