Hadith #382

English Translation

Muḥammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, Shu‘bah narrated to us, from Manṣūr, from Hilāl ibn Yasāf, from Rabī‘ ibn ‘Amīlah, from Samurah ibn Jundub, that the Prophet ﷺ said: “Do not name your boy Aflaḥ, nor Najīḥ, nor Yasār, nor Rabāḥ. For when you say ‘Is he there?’ or ‘Is so-and-so there?’ they say ‘No.’”
