English Translation

Muḥammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, Sa‘īd narrated to us — and Yazīd said: Sa‘īd informed us — and Bahz narrated to us, Hammām narrated to us, from Qatādah, from al-Ḥasan, from Samurah ibn Jundub, from the Prophet ﷺ, who said: “Every boy is held in pledge by his ‘aqīqah, which is to be slaughtered on his seventh day.” Bahz said in his narration: “And he is bloodied and named on that day, and his head is shaved.” Yazīd [added]: “His head.”
