English Translation

Ḥasan ibn Mūsā narrated to us, Zuhayr narrated to us, from Manṣūr, from Hilāl ibn Yasāf, from Rabī‘ ibn ‘Amīlah, from Samurah ibn Jundub, who said: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: “The most beloved words to Allāh tabāraka wa ta‘ālā are four: Lā ilāha illa Allāh, Allāhu Akbar, Subḥān Allāh, and al-Ḥamdu lillāh. It does not matter with which of them you begin. Do not name your boy Yasār, Rabāḥ, Najīḥ, or Aflaḥ, for you say ‘Is he there?’ and when he is not, they say ‘No.’ They are only four, so do not attribute more to me.”
