حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ مِنْ كِتَابِهِ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَ الْحَسَنُ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى ا
للَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ سَامُ أَبُو الْعَرَبِ وَيَافِثُ أَبُو الرُّومِ وَحَامُ أَبُو الْحَبَشِ وَقَالَ رَوْحٌ بِبَغْدَادَ مِنْ حِفْظِهِ وَلَدُ نُوحٍ ثَلَاثَةٌ سَامُ وَحَامُ وَيَافِثُ

English Translation
Rawḥ narrated to us from his book, Sa‘īd ibn Abī ‘Arūbah narrated to us, from Qatādah, who said: al-Ḥasan narrated from Samurah that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: “Sām is the father of the Arabs, Yāfith is the father of the Romans, and Ḥām is the father of the Abyssinians.” Rawḥ said in Baghdad from memory: The children of Nūḥ were three: Sām, Ḥām, and Yāfith.
