‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عِمْرَانُ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏قَتَادَةَ ‏ ‏عَنِ ‏ ‏الْحَسَنِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏سَمُرَةَ ‏ ‏أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏نَهَى أَنْ يَخْطُبَ الرَّجُلُ عَلَى خِطْبَةِ أَخِيهِ أَوْ ‏ ‏يَبْتَاعَ ‏ ‏عَلَى بَيْعِهِ ‏

English Translation

Sulaymān ibn Dāwūd al-Ṭayālisī narrated to us, ‘Imrān narrated to us, from Qatādah, from al-Ḥasan, from Samurah, that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ prohibited a man from proposing marriage over his brother’s proposal, or buying over his brother’s purchase.
