حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ حَدَّ
ثَنَا يُونُسُ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ كَانَ إِذَا كَبَّرَ سَكَتَ هُنَيَّةً وَإِذَا فَرَغَ مِنْ قِرَاءَةِ السُّورَةِ سَكَتَ هُنَيَّةً فَأَنْكَرَ ذَلِكَ عَلَيْهِ عِمْرَانُ بْنُ حُصَيْنٍ فَكَتَبُوا إِلَى أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ فَكَتَبَ أُبَيٌّ يُصَدِّقُهُ

English Translation
Affān narrated to us, Yazīd ibn Zuray‘ narrated to us, Yūnus narrated to us, from al-Ḥasan, from Samurah, who said: [the Prophet ﷺ] would pause briefly after the opening takbīr, and would pause briefly after finishing the sūrah. ‘Imrān ibn Ḥuṣayn objected to that, so they wrote to Ubayy ibn Ka‘b, and Ubayy wrote back confirming him.
