حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي خَالِدٍ عَنْ عَامِرٍ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى الْفَجْرَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ فَقَالَ هَ

اهُنَا مِنْ بَنِي فُلَانٍ أَحَدٌ مَرَّتَيْنِ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ هُوَ ذَا فَكَأَنِّي أَسْمَعُ صَوْتَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّ صَاحِبَكُمْ قَدْ حُبِسَ عَلَى بَابِ الْجَنَّةِ بِدَيْنٍ كَانَ عَلَيْهِ

English Translation

Yaḥyā narrated to us, from Ismā‘īl, meaning Ibn Abī Khālid, from ‘Āmir, from Samurah ibn Jundub: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed the Fajr prayer one day, then said: ‘Is anyone from the clan of so-and-so here?’ twice. A man said: Here I am. It was as if I could hear the voice of the Prophet ﷺ saying: ‘Your companion has been detained at the gate of Paradise because of a debt he owed.’
