English Translation

Muḥammad ibn Ja‘far and ‘Affān narrated to us, both saying: Shu‘bah narrated to us, from al-Ḥakam, from Ibn Abī Laylā — ‘Affān said in his ḥadīth: al-Ḥakam informed us, he said: I heard Ibn Abī Laylā — from Samurah ibn Jundub, from the Prophet ﷺ who said: ‘Whoever narrates from me a ḥadīth knowing it to be false, he is one of the liars.’ ‘Affān also said on another occasion: ‘one of the habitual liars (al-kadhdhābīn).’
